Relocating for a new job can be an exciting and brilliantly rewarding option however, have you considered the following first:
Your family situation
- Is your partner also happy to relocate – how will it affect their career ambitions?
- If you have children are they in the middle of sitting exams such as GCSE's or A-levels or are they young enough to move without any consequences to their education?
- How well will your family adjust to the move; do they already know people in the area or are comfortable making new friends?
- Will you and your family move at the same time or will you move first and your family join you at a later date?
Your home
- If you own your own home will you need to sell this first or will you rent it out?
- How long will that process take and can you afford to rent somewhere new while still maintaining the financial commitments to your current abode?
- If you currently rent your own home how easy is it to terminate that tenancy agreement?
